    Application(s): 1/10 short course truck

Comments: You get what you pay for. I had the exact same experience as Mike above. Not getting anywhere near the advertised torque because it couldn't even turn my wheels when at a standstill. My stock servo (rated at half the torque) had no such issues.

Application(s): Used for the older emaxx steering servo

Comments: Had this in my Emaxx for a few months this summer. At first it had the power to turn the front wheels without the car rolling. Within the past week it lost that ability. Two days ago it stopped working altogether.

I opened it up and the motor was toast hot. It would try to turn but couldn't. I don't know anything about coreless motors, but from what I could tell the motor was defective.

Application(s): aileron, rudder, landing gear, elevator

Comments: I have been us9ing these for over a year now along with other EXI servo's. Interesting thing is that the exi center well and have never failed me while my futaba, hitec and Jr servos of equal size and torque have failed. You already know the exi costs but a fraction of the name brand servos so in the beginning I expected them to be ok for smaller planes and areas where torque and centering were not vital. Now after testing and using these I find them to last longer, center better and simply work as they were made to do. I have learned that just because a servo has a big name brand and costs a bunch of cash it doesn't mean they are better or even equal in quality to a servo that costs less but has a not so well known name. You can spend a bunch and be ok for a while or you can spend 9-15 dollars at hobby partz and have nice servo's that do their job, do it well and do it without hurting your pocket book. You could quickly save enough to get another one or two planes very quickly and spend more time flying a variety of planes that fit your likes and after all R/C is meant to be fun and not so costly that you are afraid to fly the plane due to the enormous cost you have invested in it. I have some nice planes running for under 225 dollars in the .40 and .60 size, made well not foamies. Real planes. These servos help me do this. I give them five stars because they are worth it.

    Application(s): 1/8th brushless truggy steering servo (RC8Te)

Comments: I gave this servo a 3/5, since any metal-gear servo for $15 is by definition a good deal. However, I bought the D226F to replace a working Futaba 9451 (111.0 oz-in 0.10sec) in my RC8Te so I could put the Futaba in a racing SC10, and it didn't work out as I'd hoped.

The Futaba could push the wheels around at a standstill, but the D226F struggled: couldn't move the tires lock-to-lock unless it was moving. When stationary in a grass field I would maybe get 50% deflection either way (even though the D226F has 70 oz-in of torque on paper) - but once moving at slow-to-medium speeds it was OK.

I'm going to swap in the Futaba one more time to make sure I'm not losing my mind :)

    Application(s): AX10 Rock Crawler

Comments: These servo are available at HobbyPartz.com hard to find them in stock. These servos are the real thing. It's really a coreless motor true digital servo. They are very fast. I use both the D226F and the D227 models. Very strong and fast servo it's almost impossible to get anything that is comparable in performance for $15.00 (That's the price when they are in special at Hobby Partz). I've got three of these servos and they are all going strong. The only issue I have, and this is more RC crawler specific, that the servo is so strong that I strip the plastic axial 23T servo horn. These EXI splinned shaft is just a hair smaller than 23T so it's hard to get really good servo horns for it. Best to buy a 23T horn that has a screw on the side so you can tighten the fit around the spline. I've got $100 servo's so I know what a good servo is capable of, but at $15-$20 these EXI's D226F and D2267's are hard to beat.

    Application(s): servos for .60 size Extra 300

Comments: These are very nice servos for the money. A couple had a little gear noise, but a little grease solved this problem. They have more than enough power for this 65 inch plane and have good speed.

The only downside I see is that no mounting hardware is included, only the plastic servo arm.
